When Do San Diego Comic-Con Tickets Go on Sale? 2027 Dates

Start with Comic-Con’s own account and announcements

The official badge page publishes both sale dates. Comic-Con calls admission passes badges; a Member ID is the account used to participate, not admission itself. This guide concerns San Diego Comic-Con, not New York Comic Con or another similarly named event.

Create or check your Member ID before sale day. For official badge-sale emails, review the marketing-email choice under My Account Information. The badge FAQ explains that valid, confirmed accounts with that opt-in receive sale announcements. Turning on email does not reserve a badge or establish a favorable queue position.

The convention takes place July 22–25, 2027, with Preview Night on July 21. Its attendee sales happen in fall 2026. Putting only the convention dates in your calendar would miss the purchasing process months earlier.

Returning Registration is not a first-time visitor presale

The 2027 Returning Registration guide bases eligibility on the previous year’s paid attendee badge. Check the eligibility indicator inside your own account. A refunded or confiscated badge does not qualify, and professional, press, exhibitor and other categories have separate rules.

If your friend attended in 2026 but you did not, do not assume they can use the October sale to buy your first badge. Plan around the sale each person is eligible for. The general badge FAQ explicitly addresses this situation.

The October guide says to join the waiting room before 9 a.m. PDT. Arriving at 7:30 instead of later within that window does not give priority: the queue is randomized when the sale begins. Entry and selection are not guaranteed purchases. Follow the current instructions, including the warning not to refresh the waiting room yourself.

For a practical calendar check, 9 a.m. PDT on October 17 is noon in New York and 5 p.m. in Lisbon. Use the event date and the America/Los_Angeles time zone in your calendar. Do not copy that conversion to a different month: daylight-saving changes can alter the offset between countries.

Open Registration has a date, but more details are pending

On September 27, 2026, the official Open Registration page identified the 2027 sale and displayed “Details coming soon!” The badge overview already listed November 14. Those statements are compatible: a sale date can be confirmed before its detailed participation guide is published.

Save November 14 as a date now, then add the exact waiting-room and sale times when the current guide confirms them. The October Returning Registration timetable is not evidence of November’s start time. An old Open Registration video or search snippet may describe a previous season correctly while giving you the wrong schedule.

When the guide appears, check three things together: the event year, the sale name and the stated time zone. For a group, share the official public instructions and agree on acceptable attendance days. Avoid treating a generic “Comic-Con tickets” headline as enough detail for everyone’s plans.

See the waiting experience without copying an old schedule

The San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog’s October 4, 2025 SDConCast followed the Returning Registration sale for the 2026 convention. It is a long independent live discussion, useful for understanding the uncertainty and waiting involved. It is not an official tutorial, a promise about selection odds or the schedule for the upcoming 2027 sale.

Use the publisher’s episode page for its historical context. Their 2027 date announcement is a separate report. The official pages linked above remain the source for current eligibility and sale instructions.

Watch the public guide for a specific update

If your account confirms returning-attendee eligibility, prepare for October 17 using the current Returning Registration guide. If this is your first visit, prepare your Member ID and follow the November 14 Open Registration updates. Either way, buy through Comic-Con’s official process and check the current page before sale day.

A reminder helps you arrive prepared. It cannot turn limited inventory into a guaranteed badge. Keep the distinction between being informed, entering a sale and successfully purchasing clear throughout your planning.
