Check Costco’s list before using a roundup
Open Costco’s New Locations page first. It is the retailer’s direct coming-soon reference. For a store you can visit today, use the official warehouse finder instead. A future-location entry is not a substitute for a current warehouse page with usable hours.
Costco also provides email offers. Those are a native option for general retailer updates, but we did not verify a city-specific opening-alert subscription or delivery schedule. You do not need another monitoring tool just to look up the latest list.
On October 26, 2026, the US coming-soon page included the examples below. These are selected entries, not a complete list of every planned Costco or a claim that all October projects remain unopened. The overview gives months. Individual warehouse pages can already provide an exact day, so check both levels rather than assuming no date has been published.
| Selected location | Month displayed on the official list | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| Lee’s Summit, Missouri | October 2026 | Current warehouse status, exact address and hours. |
| The Colony, Texas | October 2026 | Whether a separate warehouse page confirms a visit is possible. |
| South Meridian, Idaho | November 2026 | The separate warehouse page already gives November 5, 2026; verify that current notice. |
| Chandler, Arizona Business Center | November 2026 | The Business Center format and its own services and hours. |
Do not convert “November 2026” into November 1 or the last day of the month. Nor does the absence of a city in a short excerpt prove that a project was canceled. Read the complete, fully loaded page and follow any location-specific information before drawing that conclusion.
Read the month as a planning window
The captured official page shows how Costco presents its near-term openings: a city followed by a month. That is a useful level of certainty for following progress, but insufficient for deciding when to take time off work or drive across a metropolitan area.

Source: Costco New Locations, captured October 26, 2026. This excerpt preserves the retailer’s heading, warehouse image and selected scheduled months; it is not the entire worldwide expansion plan.
Our browser check also exposed a practical trap: the text snapshot initially contained only the first few entries while more of the page was loading. The later rendered page contained additional locations. A short search snippet or partially loaded page should therefore not be counted as the complete opening list. This observation concerns our session; it does not establish that every reader will see the same loading sequence.
Keep country and format attached to each location. US and Canadian entries may appear in expansion coverage together. A Business Center is explicitly labeled as such on Costco’s list; do not silently turn it into a regular warehouse or infer that every service is identical. Confirm the relevant location page when the format affects your trip.
Separate an announced project from a place you can visit
An expansion story can describe a proposed site, an approved project, a construction milestone or a scheduled opening. Those statements can all be true without proving that the doors are open today. Prefer the narrowest official evidence that answers your actual question.
For example, the official South Meridian warehouse page already lists November 5, 2026 in its Opening Date field while marking the warehouse as coming soon. That is more precise than the overview’s November label, but still a future opening on October 23. Someone planning a visit this afternoon needs an operating warehouse listing and today’s hours. These readers need different answers even though both might search for “new Costco near me.”
Costco’s location-suggestion instructions explain how to send feedback about a desired warehouse. A suggestion is not an announcement, approval or promise that Costco will build there. If your town is not listed, keep the difference between a customer request and a company commitment clear.
For an independent comparison, USA TODAY’s September expansion report names its own reporting date and planned months. Use dated reporting to understand what was known then, and the current official page to check what Costco displays now. Do not merge old and new lists into an invented current total.
Use expansion videos as dated context
USA TODAY’s March 3, 2026 report describes an earlier group of March and April openings. It provides a short example of how expansion news identifies cities and time windows. Those historical dates do not establish the next opening in your area.
Video: USA TODAY, published March 3, 2026. This is an earlier expansion report, not the current coming-soon list. Recheck each relevant location directly before planning a visit.
The same verification habit applies to other retailers. Our IKEA new-locations guide distinguishes store formats and opening milestones; it does not supply Costco’s dates. A nearby store opening also says nothing about a particular item’s stock. Keep the Costco restock question separate from the warehouse-opening question.
Watch for a change to an announced opening day
Once you have saved a planned opening in your calendar, PageDog can check the selected visible Opening Date area on that warehouse’s page locally on your Mac. For South Meridian, an example goal is: “The published Opening Date changes from November 5, 2026 to a different date.” Reload first and confirm that the warehouse name and date remain inside your selection. This is a change watch, not a search for a date that is already public.
This catches a published statement, not a real-world inspection. The Mac must remain available for scheduled checks; relevant captured evidence goes to the configured AI service. PageDog does not follow every linked location, infer an opening from the passage of time, bypass access restrictions or reserve products. If the notice moves elsewhere, update the selected area and verify the source yourself.
Make the final check before leaving
Use the coming-soon page to follow a planned location. Use the warehouse finder and the individual location’s current information to decide whether and when to visit. Confirm the address, format and hours rather than treating a month in an expansion story as an appointment. If those details are still missing, wait for a specific notice or ask Costco to clarify them.
