Start with Disney’s own itinerary and booking pages
Open the official fall 2027 and spring 2028 itinerary announcement and look for the travel period you actually want. Follow its booking link to search your departure month, port and party. The year in a headline is not enough: a spring release does not establish that an August Alaska voyage is available.
For future announcements, use Disney’s own email updates first. The planDisney answer about 2028 release timing links to the official email signup. Its June 1, 2026 timing estimate has since been overtaken by actual announcements, so use that older answer for the signup route rather than as today’s release status.
If you work with a travel agent, give them the same precise request: departure window, destination, ship preference and who is travelling. “Any Disney cruise in 2028” and “an Alaska sailing during the school summer break” are different searches.
Two booking releases you can distinguish now
Disney Parks Blog’s August 25 announcement covered fall 2027 and spring 2028. It gave August 31 as the start of early booking for selected Castaway Club members and September 8 as the general booking date. Both dates are in 2026, not the year of travel.
A newer October 7 Disney Believe announcement says the ship’s maiden voyage is December 18, 2027, departing Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It describes four- and five-night Bahamas and Caribbean sailings and gives October 19, 2026 as the general on-sale date. That date has also passed.
| Release | Confirmed general booking date | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Fall 2027 and spring 2028 itineraries | September 8, 2026 | Availability for every later month of 2028. |
| Disney Believe inaugural season | October 19, 2026 | A cabin remains available for your party or chosen sailing. |
| A summer 2028 estimate in a forum or planning article | No confirmed date established by those estimates | That Disney has announced the date or opened the voyage. |
This comparison is about announcement status, not a live cabin inventory report. We verified the public Disney Parks Blog sources on October 22. The separate cruise-booking domain was blocked in our browser session, so we did not verify a completed search or current cabin price there.

A missing summer sailing needs another check
We did not find a confirmed summer-wide 2028 booking date in the official announcements reviewed for this article. That is a bounded finding, not a guarantee that Disney has published nothing elsewhere. Recheck the current official itinerary listing before deciding whether to wait.
Keep three questions separate. Has Disney announced the season? Has the booking window opened for your eligibility group? Does the live booking result offer the sailing and accommodation you need? An answer to one does not automatically answer the other two.
For a concrete planning example, a family seeking a July 2028 Alaska cruise should not treat the September spring-release date as its deadline. It should look for an announcement covering Alaska and the relevant summer dates. A family considering a spring Bahamas sailing has a different next step: check the already announced voyages against its actual travel window.
The independent MouseSavers 2028 schedule can help organize published sailings. It is a planning reference, not Disney’s live booking system. Check its update date and confirm the final details with Disney before paying for a cruise or connecting travel.
Watch the Believe reveal for ship context
Disney Parks’ official October 7, 2026 presentation explains what the new ship is and introduces its homeport and inaugural plans. It can help you decide whether the Believe belongs on your shortlist rather than choosing only by the year in a search result.
This is a recorded ship reveal, not a live availability feed. Its entertainment and venue previews do not establish today’s cabin price, a future release date or remaining space on a particular voyage.
Follow one missing announcement on your Mac
If Disney’s general updates are broader than the one release you need, PageDog can watch a selected visible area of a public announcement page for a specific outcome. Use this for a headline or published booking date, then make the booking decision yourself.
For example, open the Disney Cruise Line section of Disney Parks Blog in PageDog and select the visible recent-announcement area. A useful goal would be: “A new official announcement explicitly includes summer 2028 Alaska itineraries and says when booking opens.” Mention both the season and destination so another ship announcement does not satisfy the request.
Before starting, reload the source and check that the same useful area is visible. A goal cannot compensate for a blocked page, a cookie dialog covering the content or a selected region that no longer contains the news. The separate booking domain was blocked in our test; do not build a watch around an inaccessible calendar.
PageDog performs checks on your Mac. It evaluates the selected area against the goal, with the relevant evidence sent to the configured AI service; local execution does not mean every part of AI processing stays on-device. It does not reserve cabins, click through a booking flow or bypass access restrictions. See the local-first explanation before deciding whether that setup fits your needs.
For travel that also depends on flights, keep the flight-release check separate. A cruise announcement does not confirm your connecting transport.
Decide whether to search now or wait
If your season is announced and general booking has opened, search the official booking system for your exact party and dates. If the relevant season is missing, follow the specific official announcement rather than a predicted annual release day. If the page is inaccessible, ask Disney or your agent to verify availability; do not interpret a browser error as a sold-out ship.
Sources to keep handy
Disney’s itinerary page establishes the seasonal release. The dated Parks Blog announcements establish the September and October booking dates. MouseSavers helps organize the released schedule; Disney’s own current booking result remains the place to confirm the trip you can actually buy.
