Canva Pricing 2026: Pro, Business, Teams and AI Costs

Canva is free; its public US annual price is $144 for Pro or $250 per person for Business. Enterprise is custom priced. Legacy Teams and optional AI purchases can change your actual bill.

Check your Canva bill before comparing plans

For an existing subscription, start in Settings → Billing. Check the plan name, currency, renewal date, member count and add-ons. For a new purchase, open Canva’s pricing page in your region and select monthly or yearly billing before comparing totals.

The table below records the official public US annual prices checked on September 11, 2026, before applicable tax. Annual equivalents are our arithmetic, not monthly subscription offers. Regional prices, app-store subscriptions and existing account terms can differ.

PlanUS annual price
Free$0
Pro$144 for one person; equivalent to $12/month
Business$250 per person; equivalent to about $20.83/month

Do not compare a twelve-month commitment with one month of use. If you only need a short project, select Monthly on the live page and compare the entire expected project cost. A lower annual equivalent can still mean a larger upfront payment.

Pro or Business: pay for the missing workflow

Canva Pro combines premium content with tools such as background removal, resizing, brand kits and content scheduling. It is the first paid plan to examine when one person regularly produces finished designs.

Business adds team administration, approvals and a larger AI allowance. Canva’s Business overview positions it for individuals as well as small teams: a solo marketer can need its features, while a team should not assume that buying several personal Pro subscriptions creates the same shared workflow.

Write down the specific feature that would change your work. “We need an approval process for five contributors” is a clearer buying reason than “Business sounds safer.” If the job is primarily interface design rather than marketing production, compare the separate seat and credit model in our Figma pricing guide before adding another design subscription.

A five-person Business team at the displayed US annual rate has a $1,250 annual base cost. Ten people cost $2,500. Those examples assume the same members for the whole year and exclude add-ons and tax; they are not renewal quotes for legacy teams.

Canva Teams is a legacy plan

Canva’s current Teams documentation says new customers cannot sign up for or upgrade to Teams. An existing subscriber can remain on it, retain current pricing when adding members, and receive the new premium features also added to Pro. Business-only features are excluded.

Canva Help Center states that Teams is unavailable for new sign-ups and cannot be restored after cancellation

Source: Canva Help Center, About Canva Teams, captured September 11, 2026. The page explains that Teams is closed to new sign-ups and cannot be restored after cancellation.

That changes the upgrade calculation. Compare your actual Teams renewal with the Business offer in your account. A fresh public price does not prove that your current subscription has become more expensive.

Canva’s plan-switching instructions also explain that canceling Business does not automatically restore a previous Pro subscription. Returning to Pro requires a separate subscription at the current rate. Before changing a team, preserve access to the designs people need; removing members can remove their access to that workspace.

AI allowance is shared across tools, not unlimited

The AI usage documentation describes a monthly allowance, with different consumption by tool and task complexity:

PlanPublished upper estimate
FreeUp to 20 Standard or Premium uses; no Ultra access
ProUp to 200 Premium or 20 Ultra uses
BusinessUp to 400 Premium or 40 Ultra uses

These are alternative estimates for simple work using lower-consumption tools, not separate balances you can add together. Each Business member has an individual allowance. Standard tools on the main paid plans do not draw from that shared allowance, subject to fair use.

Trials use the smaller trial allowance. A paid annual subscription still resets its AI allowance monthly on its billing-day anniversary. Check Settings → Billing → AI usage for your own balance; do not infer it from the number of designs exported.

Canva’s official April 16, 2026 keynote demonstrates the creative workflows behind this distinction. The AI 2.0 section begins around 6:04. It is feature context; the live documentation above determines today’s allowances and pricing.

AI Pass can cost more than the base subscription

The AI Pass Help Center page currently lists US$100 per person per month, globally, in addition to the underlying subscription. It advertises 40 times the Pro allowance or 20 times the Business allowance.

Eligibility matters: it is available on supported web-managed paid plans, including Pro, Teams and Business. Free trials, prepaid subscriptions and subscriptions managed through Apple’s App Store or Google Play are excluded. Team owners or admins purchase it for members. Annual subscribers can also choose annual AI Pass billing, with a proportional charge for the remaining term.

For a solo creator, twelve months of the $100 monthly add-on is $1,200. Combined with a $144 annual Pro subscription, that illustrative yearly outlay is $1,344 before tax. This calculation explains why “Canva costs $12 a month” can be a poor budget estimate for heavy AI use.

First measure the work you actually run. Test a representative design, including revisions, and inspect its effect on your balance. Buy additional allowance for a recurring need you can identify.

Added members can create another invoice

According to Canva’s Business billing guide, monthly plans bill new-member charges on a subsequent bill. Annual plans reconcile added members every three months, charging for the remaining plan duration. Members added within three days of the billing date may appear on the following bill.

Canva sends an email or in-app reminder three days before the next bill so you can review the team. Use that native reminder and your invoices for account-specific costs. A public pricing page cannot explain every line of a private invoice.

Watch a public price or allowance you would act on

For renewal details and remaining AI usage, Canva’s own Billing page is the simplest source. PageDog is useful for a different question: whether a visible public offer or allowance changes enough to reconsider your plan.

On a Mac, add the official pricing URL, select the Pro price area, and set a condition such as: “Alert me when the displayed annual Canva Pro price is below $144 USD.” Use the currency and billing interval actually visible in your session. Keep those labels inside the selected area so a monthly price does not look like an annual discount.

PageDog checks that area on your Mac and uses AI to evaluate the condition. Review the recorded before-and-after evidence before acting. It does not change subscriptions or guarantee that a displayed offer applies to your account. It must remain open with the Mac awake and online; the documentation explains what AI receives and runtime limits.

Choose Free while it handles the job. Choose Pro for solo premium design, Business for a specific collaboration or allowance need, and AI Pass only after measuring usage. Keep a legacy Teams plan until the proposed replacement offers enough value to justify its actual renewal cost.
